Summer Sailboat Nails.

I've been trying to think of nail designs that are perfect for summer, and eventually I came up with sailboats!

I think these are pretty simple, bright, and cute; essentially perfect for summer.

The base color I used for this design was Revlon Blue Lagoon, and everything else was done with acrylic paints.

Melting Ice Cream Nails.

Ice cream is awesome, and it makes for awesome nail art too.

As I mentioned it likely would be, today's manicure is inspired by one of my current obsessions! Not ice cream but the book I talked about in yesterday's post.

I wasn't confident that I could convey the actual sea of tranquility through nail art, so instead I went with ice cream. It's on the book's cover, it plays its role in the plot, and of course, it's awesome.

The polishes I used for this manicure were Orly Pixy Stix and Spark, OPI Done Out in Deco, Revlon Blue Lagoon, American Apparel Office, and Julep January.

Purple Spider Nails.

I loved this manicure when I saw it last year and I knew I'd have to do it for myself when Halloween finally came around again!

The base color is Revlon Facets of Fuchsia, a polish I've been waiting to use for about as long as I've been waiting to try this design! The spiders are from the BM-13 plate and I stamped with Sally Hansen Silver Sweet. I finished things off with purple rhinestones from a wheel from Amazon.

The glitter and rhinestone combination make the spiders almost feminine! I love how it turned out.

Yellow Umbrella Nails.

I decided to do a very weather appropriate manicure for today!

The base color for these nails is Revlon Blue Lagoon with Wet n Wild Blue Wants to be a Millionaire layered on top. The umbrellas are done in acrylic paint.

I wasn't sure what color to go with for the umbrellas, but I think yellow ended up being the perfect choice. It makes the manicure extra bright and fun.

Tie Dye Paisley Nails.

I really love today's manicure! I used the same technique I used for this design, but this time with pastels. And I like the results even better than I did last time. The pastels create a really soft and pretty tie dye effect.

I painted all of my nails with Milani White on the Spot as a base to create the tie dye over. Then the pastel polishes I used were Orly Pixy Stix, Orly Spark, American Apparel Office, OPI Lucky Lucky Lavender, and Revlon Blue Lagoon.

The perfect finishing touch to complement my tie dyed nails was stamping with the Born Pretty Store M64 plate (reviewed here.) I stamped with Konad Special black polish.

I'll have to come up with more designs I can use the watercolor technique for because I'm really loving it at the moment!

Sheep Nails.

I knew I wanted to do a freehand design for today's manicure, but couldn't decide on anything. After a few failed ideas, I found inspiration from this manicure. And I think the results are super cute!

I did a gradient with Revlon Blue Lagoon and China Glaze Tree Hugger for the sky and the grass. For the actual sheep I used acrylic paints.

Patterned Heart Nails.

Somehow I landed on hearts for todays manicure, and this is what I came up with.

The base color is China Glaze Secret Peri-winkle, and the hearts are done with acrylic paint. I added dots in OPI Lucky Lucky Lavender, China Glaze Tree Hunger, and Revlon Blue Lagoon.

Lightning Storm Nails.

I recently saw a photo of someone with a great stormy design on their nails, and I knew I had to try something similar.

I used Wet n Wild Black Creme as the base and sponged on Revlon Blue Lagoon, Revlon Plum Seduction, Sally Hansen Brisk Blue, and Sephora Cassis. Then I used a dotting tool and acrylic paint to add the lightning.

Sandcastle Nails.

Today's manicure is another one that's perfect for summer! I don't have too much else to say about it, I went for a pretty simple silhouette and decided to make each of my nails the same.

The base color is Revlon Blue Lagoon, the sand castes are a mix of Petites Shimmering Sand, Wet n Wild French White Creme, and Zoya Jules, and the flags are OPI My Chihuahua Bites.

And this post just didn't seem complete without a few songs about sandcastles, so here are two that fit the theme.

Striped Flamingo Nails.

Someone on Instagram (my username is holymanicures on Instagram if you want to check it out) requested a flamingo manicure, so I decided to see what I could come up with! When I started working on the design I didn't think I liked where it was going, but by the time I was finished I was very happy with it. I do think it comes across a bit better in person though.

The blue base color is Revlon Blue Lagoon, the pinks I used are CND Raspberry Plunge, Wet n Wild Tickled Pink, and Revlon Twinkled Pink. The white I used is Sally Hansen Whirlwind White and the black is Wet n Wild Black Creme.

Scalloped Half Moon Nails.

Today's nails were inspired by a picture I saw on tumblr and traced back to this tutorial.

The colors I used for this design are Revlon Blue Lagoon, Revlon Plum Seduction, OPI Ogre the Top Blue, and Milani Dressmaker. I really liked the color combination, maybe it will show up in another design in the future!

In other news, I'm going to work on more video tutorials soon, so let me know if there are any specific designs I've done you'd be interested in seeing a tutorial for.
