Candy Cane Heart Nails.

I decided to do my first holiday manicure of the season for a Christmas party last week. I did a bunch of Christmas designs last year so I wasn't sure what to choose until I was inspired by this candy cane hearts manicure.

I chose to skip the faded look of my inspiration mani and opt out of the typical bright Christmas colors and instead chose darker, winter appropriate shades. The polishes I used for this design were Zoya Gemma, American Apparel Port, and a LA Colors gold glitter striping polish. The white was done with acrylic paint.

I received a lot of compliments on these and I thought they were just festive enough without being too much!

Christmas Tree Nails.

Today's manicure is probably my favorite out of all the Christmas designs I've done!

I started with a base of Zoya Jules and then used striping tape and Wet n Wild Sagreena the Teenage Witch to add the tree.

The finishing touches were rhinestones for tree toppers, and a little bit of glitter (Milani Gems) for ornaments.

Dotted Olive Nails.

I think olive green nail polish is the perfect way to give your nails a little subtle festiveness, which is why I ended up wearing Zoya Gemma on my nails today.

But subtle nails are only fun for so long, so of course I wanted to add a few less subtle dots to the manicure. I used China Glaze Swing Baby to add the dots. Swing Baby is also a great holiday color, I'll have to remember to use it more!

Reindeer Nails.

I tried to do reindeer nails a few weeks ago and didn't like how they turned out, so I decided to give them another shot.

I did them a little differently and ended up being pleased with the results!

The base color is Zoya Jules, and the other polishes I used are OPI You Don't Know Jacques, OPI I Brake for Manicures, and Wet n Wild Ebony Hates Chris. The red and the white are done in acrylic paint.

Paw Print Nails.

I decided to try out doing dog paw prints on my nails the other day, and I love how they came out! They're super cute and work very nicely for short nails.

The base color I used is Zoya Jules and the paw prints are in OPI You Don't Know Jacques.

Kate Spade Nails.

Today's nails were inspired by Kate Spade and my new phone case!

Here is my cute new phone case that is responsible for sparking my interest in doing this design.

And here is a bit of the inspiration behind each of the nails...

Getting back to the manicure, the polishes I used were Milani White on the Spot, Wet n Wild Black Creme, Sally Hansen Gold Chrome, and Zoya Jules. For the perfect green shade I used acrylic paint.

Sandcastle Nails.

Today's manicure is another one that's perfect for summer! I don't have too much else to say about it, I went for a pretty simple silhouette and decided to make each of my nails the same.

The base color is Revlon Blue Lagoon, the sand castes are a mix of Petites Shimmering Sand, Wet n Wild French White Creme, and Zoya Jules, and the flags are OPI My Chihuahua Bites.

And this post just didn't seem complete without a few songs about sandcastles, so here are two that fit the theme.

Born Pretty Moustache Ring Review.

In my first Born Pretty Store review, I mentioned all the awesome nail art supplies they sell. And when I think of Born Pretty Store, nail art is where my mind goes. But they also sell jewelry!

The piece of jewelry I was sent was a moustache ring. The ring isn't something I would typically consider my style, but I was happy to wear it around and  give it a shot. The moustache design might not be totally me, but it is definitely a quirky and fun piece of jewelry.

I was happy to find the ring is adjustable so I didn't have to worry about sizing, which had crossed my mind before it arrived.

I think this would be a great piece for making an outfit a little more playful, and you really can't go wrong with the $1.79 price tag (with free shipping!) Plus you can use my coupon code, BRJ61 to get 10% off.

Now of course I couldn't leave you with just pictures of the ring, so I had to do a manicure to match!
I was seeing moustache nails everywhere a few months ago, but never got around to trying them out for myself, so this was the perfect opportunity.

The pretty base color is Zoya Jules, and the moustaches are done with Wet n Wild Black Creme.
