Argyle Nails.

An argyle design is something I've wanted to do for a long time but had never even attempted until now. I'm not sure why it took me so long because I think it makes for a cute manicure!

The polishes I used were Nails Inc. South Kensington, Nails Inc. Baker Street, OPI Don't Mess With OPI, and Wet n Wild Black Creme.

Moon Phase Nails.

Moon phase designs have been very popular in fashion lately, and I thought they might translate nicely to nail art. So, of course I had to try it!

The polishes I used for this design were OPI Lucernetainly Look Marvelous, OPI I Don't Give A Rotterdam!, Wet n Wild French White Creme, and Sephora Formula X Dark Matter.

During the manicure process I wasn't sure if I'd end up caring for this manicure but I'm actually very happy with how it turned out. This manicure is a fun way to reinvent your use of half moons and ruffian designs. Plus, it was easy enough to do, I used reinforcements to help with my moon shapes and a sponge and small brush for adding details.

Golden V-Gap Nails.

Gold and black is my perfect manicure color combination because it coordinates perfectly with all my outfits and jewelry.

I especially like the simplicity of this design and the pop of gold glitter at the base of the nails!

The polishes I used were Wet n Wild Black Creme and Sephora Formula X Bond, Ionic Bond (my new favorite glitter!)

Patriotic Explosion Nails.

Last year one of my 4th of July manicures was a freehanded firework design, this year I decided I wanted to use fireworks as my inspiration again, but take a different route. I decided to do a tape manicure and do the explosion design I've been planning to do for quite a while.

The polishes I used were Mary Kay Radiant Red, Sally Hansen Silver Sweep, and OPI Dating A Royal.

This design takes a bit of patience since there is a lot of waiting for layers to dry completely, but besides that it's pretty easy and I love how it turned out!

Christmas Tree Nails.

Today's manicure is probably my favorite out of all the Christmas designs I've done!

I started with a base of Zoya Jules and then used striping tape and Wet n Wild Sagreena the Teenage Witch to add the tree.

The finishing touches were rhinestones for tree toppers, and a little bit of glitter (Milani Gems) for ornaments.

Chrome Striped Nails.

I came across a photo from my phone of a manicure I did a few months ago and decided I should share it.

I believe what originally happened was I took this photo to send to a friend, and then before I could get around to taking all the high-quality blog-worthy photos, the design ended up getting messed up.

You can certainly still get the idea from this photo though, so I figured it was worth sharing. The black is Wet n Wild Black Creme, and the colors underneath are all of the polishes from the Color Club Foiled collection.

Dotted V-Gap Nails.

For today's manicure I kept things pretty simple, using tape to create a triangle at the base of my nails and then of course adding some dots!

The polishes I used are American Apparel Mount Royal and OPI Don't Mess With OPI.

Sparkly Candy Cane Nails.

Candy canes are one of the best parts of the holidays and of course that means they deserve a little coordinating nail art.

For this design I painted my nails with Milani White on the Spot and placed striping tape over my nails and then painted over it with an unnamed shimmery red polish. The finishing touch was a little bit of the silver glitter from Born Pretty Store that I reviewed here.

Rose Gold Beam Nails.

I love striping tape manicures, and I realized I've barely been doing anything with tape lately! I figured I'd fix that and put it to use for today's design.

The base color is Orly Rage, and the black is CND Oilslick. The finishing touch were the black rhinestones from a wheel I got off of Amazon (I ordered the striping tape off of amazon too!)

Four Corners Nails.

I realized I hadn't used striping tape in a while and decided to do something simple with it.

The base color for the manicure is OPI A Good Mandarin is Hard to Find and the other color is OPI Ate Berries in the Canaries.

Cool Toned V-Gap Nails.

I realized I hadn't done a v-gap manicure in a while when I saw photos of them all over the runways at New York Fashion Week and decided it was something I needed to do more of.

My color inspiration actually came from my hair, which I've been enjoying having dip-dyed (colored ends.) The ends of my hair are currently purple and my teal, so I used OPI Ink and Wet n Wild Teal or No Teal.

Taupe and Neon Nails.

I really liked the idea of a neutral manicure with a pop of neon, which is how I decided on todays design. For my neutral I chose OPI You Don't Know Jacques and for the neon I went with China Glaze Shocking Pink. I created the perfect lines with striping tape!

Striped Flamingo Nails.

Someone on Instagram (my username is holymanicures on Instagram if you want to check it out) requested a flamingo manicure, so I decided to see what I could come up with! When I started working on the design I didn't think I liked where it was going, but by the time I was finished I was very happy with it. I do think it comes across a bit better in person though.

The blue base color is Revlon Blue Lagoon, the pinks I used are CND Raspberry Plunge, Wet n Wild Tickled Pink, and Revlon Twinkled Pink. The white I used is Sally Hansen Whirlwind White and the black is Wet n Wild Black Creme.

Blocks and Dots Nails.

I think this manicure sounded a little better in my head, but I decided to share it anyway. I got the idea for the manicure when I saw this design and decided to play around with the possibilities a little.

I painted all of my nails with Wet n Wild Black Creme and once it was dry and put striping tape on my nails to create the blocks. Next I filled in all the blocks with Sally Hansen Brisk Blue, Silver Sweep, and Lickety-Split Lime. After I removed the tape I added black dots in-between all the squares.

Pinwheel Nails.

This manicure is another fun striping tape design. The colors I used were Wet n Wild Saved by the Blue, American Apparel Office, and CND Asphalt. The finishing touch was a blue rhinestone in the center.

American Flag Nails.

I've seen a lot of great Memorial Day manicures, but I decided to keep things simple and classic for my design. Maybe I will do something crazier for the 4th of July.

I created stripes on my pointer and ring fingernails using striping tape, and stars on my middle and pinky fingernails. For the stars I used the BM-20 plate, but I ended up going over them with a small brush so the white would be more opaque.

The blue polish I used is Essence Just Rock It! and the red is Julep January. The white I used for the stripes is Wet n Wild French White Creme and the white for the stars is Konad Special White Polish.

Evil Eye Nails.

Today's nails were inspired by an evil eye necklace I saw on tumblr. I used Claire's Marine Blue as the base, Wet n Wild Black Creme for the triangle, and white acrylic paint for the eye.

I've had this photo of the necklace saved on my desktop for a few weeks now because I knew it would make the perfect nail art.

I'm really happy with how these turned out!

Plaid Sparkle Nails.

I knew I wanted to do a gradient today, but I had a hard time figuring out exactly what I wanted to. Eventually I decided on the gradient as an accent nail, with a plaid design (done using striping tape) on top. The rest of my nails are Wet n Wild Black Creme with CND Raspberry Sparkle on top, and the gradient is done with Claire's Orange Neon and China Glaze Shocking Pink.

And here is a closeup of the plaid nail...

Tricolor Wave Nails.

Today's design is nice and simple, but bright.

The colors I used were China Glaze Tree Hugger, OPI Ate Berries in the Canaries, and Sally Hansen Brisk Blue.

Neon Zig Zag Nails.

I'm really happy with how this manicure turned out, and if you have striping tape it's very simple to do!

I painted all my nails white and then added small dots of different neon colors randomly all over my nails until I couldn't see any of the white. Then I added a coat of glitter and let me nails dry completely.

Once my nails were dry completely I used striping tape to create a zig zag pattern, and then painted over the tape with black. I pulled the tape off, and that was it!

I used a bunch of neon polishes for this design: China Glaze Pink Voltage, China Glaze In The Lime Light, American Apparel Neon Yellow, Claire's Marine Blue, Color Club You've Got Soul-ar, and Color Club Wink, Wink Twinkle. The glitter polish is Color Club Starry Temptress and the black polish is Wet n Wild Black Creme.
