Easter Bunny Nails.

I love doing manicures with animals, and so for Easter I had to try out bunnies.

I used OPI Lucky Lucky Lavender as the base and did the bunny with Sally Hansen Whirlwind White, Wet n Wild Ebony Hates Chris, and Wet n Wild Tickled Pink.

I also decided to convert this Easter manicure into a manicure for something I was doing that day. Me and my friends went to a book signing for The Buried Life and asked them to play chubby bunny with us. The bunny nails happened to suit both the upcoming holiday and the book signing perfectly, so I just added to my thumb.

And here is the Buried Life playing chubby bunny...

Red Kiss Nails.

After being inspired by this blog post, I decided to break out both my stamping plates and the tape.

The red polish is CND Flashpoint. I don't usually paint my nails red, but this is a really nice shade and it has a great formula. I used tape to do my accent nail, the white is my typical Sally Hansen Whirlwind White and the black is Wet n Wild Black Creme.

For the lip print I stamped using BM-12. First I did the lips with Konad Special White Polish and then I stamped the same image on top with CND Flashpoint.

Purple Tie-Dye Nails.

I decided to play around with a tie-dye-esque technique the other day. I wasn't sure exactly what look I was going for, so I just messed around until I got something I like on each of my nails.

I think this technique could result in a really awesome manicure if I figured out a cool pattern to aim for on each of my nails, however I'm not sure I'd attempt it again. The actual painting was really quick and simple, but cleanup was terrible. Maybe sometime when I have a lot of time on my hands though.

I used all American Apparel polishes for this manicure, most of the ones I own are very opaque which makes them a good choice for a manicure like this. The polishes I used are Factory Grey, Mount Royal, and Dynasty.

The more I look at the photos, the more I think I might be willing to give in to the long cleanup time and try it again.

Cherry Nails.

Fruit themed manicures are super fun and perfect for Spring and Summer. In the past I've done kiwis, but this time I decided to go with cherries.

I used Wet n Wild Tickled Pink as the base and make the cherries with CND Flashpoint and OPI Don't Mess with OPI.

There are lots of other fruits that would make a great manicure, I'll have to keep that in mind for future posts!

Cloudy Sky Nails.

Clouds are a super easy design to do with a dotting tool. I started with China Glaze For Audrey as my base color and did the clouds with Sally Hansen Whirlwind White.

Gradient and Splatter Nails.

Splatter nails are a bit messy, but definitely worth the results. Instead of splattering in multiple colors, this time I decided to do a gradient underneath the splatter which was a fun change.

I used Orly Pixy Stix (best nail polish name,) American Apparel Office, and China Glaze Secret Peri-winkle. You can't see it in some of the photos but over the gradient I put CND Raspberry Sparkle.

Colorful Balloon Nails.

I saw these balloon nails on tumblr and had to give it a shot. I went about doing it a little differently, but I was very happy with the outcome. These are definitely nice and cheery.

The colors I used for the balloons are OPI My Chihuahua Bites, OPI Who The Shrek Are You?, OPI Ogre the Top Blue, and China Glaze Spontaneous. The base color is Sally Hansen Whirlwind White, and the balloon strings are Essence Movie Star.

Flakie Zebra Nails.

I was inspired after seeing zebra print over a flakie polish on tumblr and had to give it a shot.

I used OPI Lincoln Park at Midnight as the base and put Sally Hansen Hidden Treasure on top. The zebra print is from Konad M57 and I stamped with Konad Special White Polish.

I think the flakie polish really makes the manicure.

Hope your weekend is off to a good start!

Purple Pansy Nails.

Florals are great for spring, and with the great weather we've had this week here in New York, floral nails seemed very necessary.

Instead of going with my typical roses, I was inspired by this pansy manicure.

I used OPI Done Out in Deco (one of my all time favorite polishes) as the base and OPI Ate Berries in the Canaries, CND Flashpoint, and Sally Hansen Whirlwind White for the flowers.

These were really simple flowers to do, they would be fun to do again and try out different colors.

Nail Supplies Haul.

Receiving mail is always fun, especially when it's a package that includes nail stuff!

I received a care package from home today with a lot of my favorite things, including some nail supplied. There were two nail files, a nail buffer, and nail polish remover pads. The package also included a new palette and brushes for doing nail art. I always need more brushes for doing details, I'm sure I'll be breaking those out this weekend.

The care package also included something blog-relevant, a tripod for my camera. It's super compact (aka adorable.) I didn't get it in the photo so you'll have to trust me on the adorable part. I might even try using it to film nail art tutorials for youtube.

The only thing in the photo that wasn't from the care package is the nail polish, which is Orly Rage. I bought Rage for myself as a midterms-are-over present. It's a really pretty rose gold color that I've been wanting for a while.

I also ordered a few nail art items off amazon today, hopefully I'll be posting about those sometime next week!

Twister Nails.

When I went to do my nails yesterday all I knew was I wanted to do something with the rainbow and something with dots. From there I basically just winged it, and ended up with something sort of Twister-esque.

The colors I used were CND Flashpoint, CND Electric Orange, CND Bicycle Yellow, Sinful Colors Envy, LA Colors Static Electricity, and China Glaze Spontaneous. The base is Sally Hansen Whirlwind White.

This is a really simple design but I like how colorful it is, it's nice and cheery. Cheery nails are definitely a mood booster during midterms! (Which are almost over...which I think means time to treat myself to a few polishes or nail tools.)

Hunger Games Nails.

I told you I'd be revisiting flame nails and here they are!

I was planning on going to a Hunger Games book signing today (before I decided that studying for midterms was slightly more important) and knew I had to do something related for my nail art for the day.

Flames make for the perfect Hunger Games manicure. I used Wet n Wild Ebony Hates Chris as my base and made the flames with CND Bicycle Yellow, Claires Orange Neon, and CND Copper Pearl.

Now back to the studying...
