School Chalkboard Nails.

Ciaté always seems to be coming out with kits that help create the latest trendy manicures. But usually there is a cheaper way to get the look. And their Chalkboard kit is no exception! All you need for a similar design is a good matte topcoat.

For my version I painted my nails with CND Oilslick and then added my school inspired designs using acrylic paint, and then finished things off with Claire's Matte Topcoat. (I'd recommend a different topcoat like Essie Matte About You because I'm not a big fan of this one.) It's a great design for back to school!

Sugar Skull Nails.

I've seen so many cute sugar skull nail designs that I finally had to try it for myself.

I figured I couldn't go wrong with doing mine with neon polishes, so I used China Glaze Pink Voltage and In the Limelight, Claires Marine Blue, Color Club Wink Wink Twinkle and You Got Soul-ar. The white is Milani White on the Spot and the black is CND Oilslick.

Neon Dot Nails.

Some of my most well received manicures have been all dots (like these or these) so I thought I'd break out my dotting tools again. This time I decided to use all neon polishes, perfect for the very summer-like weather we have been getting.

The dots were done with China Glaze Shocking Pink, China Glaze In the Lime Light, American Apparel Neon Yellow, and Claire's Orange Neon. The base color is Sally Hansen Whirlwind White.

On an unrelated note, someone asked me how the Orly Nail Rescue I mentioned purchasing worked out for me. I haven't had a reason to use it yet, but I will update when I do!

Hunger Games Nails.

I told you I'd be revisiting flame nails and here they are!

I was planning on going to a Hunger Games book signing today (before I decided that studying for midterms was slightly more important) and knew I had to do something related for my nail art for the day.

Flames make for the perfect Hunger Games manicure. I used Wet n Wild Ebony Hates Chris as my base and made the flames with CND Bicycle Yellow, Claires Orange Neon, and CND Copper Pearl.

Now back to the studying...

Neon Tribal Nails.

After my first attempt of tribal nails, I knew I had to do it again, and this time I used neons.

The colors I used were China Glaze Pink Voltage, Claire's Orange Neon and Marine Blue, and American Apparel Neon Yellow. The details are all done with LA Colors Art Deco in black.

This would be a really fun look for summer, maybe I'll have to break out something similar again sometime!
