Tiny Pineapple Nails.

It's been a while since my last post, but now that I have survived finals and moving into my first apartment, I want to get back to blogging regularly. 

My nails have certainly suffered during the rigors of moving and building Ikea furniture, but my cuticles are starting to recover, and hopefully my nails will only be painfully short for a little while longer. 

For today's manicure I decided to do something in accordance with one of this summer's biggest fashion trends, pineapples. 

The base color for the design is Wet n Wild French White Creme, and the pineapples were done with acrylic paints.

I think these are perfect for summer, and it's one design that I think looks just as good on short or long nails!

Chocolate Dipped Strawberry Nails.

I've mentioned before that I think fruit manicures are very cute and fun, so of course when I saw this tutorial for chocolate covered strawberry nails I had to do my own version! I've done strawberry nails before but these designs are quite different so I thought it would still be interesting. 

The polishes I used are Bellisimo Calgary Flame, OPI Don't Mess with OPI, Sephora Formula X Dark Matter, and Essie Very Structured,

Strawberry Nails.

I think fruit makes for really cute manicure inspiration, I've already done watermelon and kiwi in past blog posts. Deciding on which fruit to do next wasn't hard after I saw this manicure. I really liked the idea of using bullion beads for the seeds of strawberries. Placing all the beads ended up being a bit tiresome, but the results are definitely extra cute. 

I used China Glaze Ahoy! and Watermelon Rind for the strawberries, and used the bullion beads that I reviewed here.

Red Apple Nails.

When I was deciding on a manicure on today's post, I came to the conclusion that apples would make for the perfect back-to-school design.

As far as freehand designs go, apples are nice and simple. The base color I used is Color Club Antiquated, and the rest of the design is done with acrylic paints.

Kiwi Nails.

I attempted kiwi nails last summer, pre-blog and thought they were so cute, so I figured it was time to do them again! 

Not much changed from when I did them the first time, except now I'm using better tools and taking better photos to document the cuteness. 

The base color is China Glaze Treehugger, and the green for the kiwi is Treehugger mixed with a little white polish. The white is Milani White on the Spot and the black is Wet n Wild Black Creme.

Watermelon Nails.

After the success of my cherry nails, I decided to do a fruit manicure again. This time it's watermelon!

The base is China Glaze Strawberry Fields, and the ring is China Glaze Watermelon Rind. I used my typical black and white for the details, Sally Hansen Whirlwind White and Wet n Wild Ebony Hates Chris.

I'm really liking the fruit manicures for spring/summer. Maybe strawberry nails will be next?

Cherry Nails.

Fruit themed manicures are super fun and perfect for Spring and Summer. In the past I've done kiwis, but this time I decided to go with cherries.

I used Wet n Wild Tickled Pink as the base and make the cherries with CND Flashpoint and OPI Don't Mess with OPI.

There are lots of other fruits that would make a great manicure, I'll have to keep that in mind for future posts!
