Today I'm going to talk about a product I received in my VoxBox. What is VoxBox? A VoxBox is part of a subscription service called Influenster. It's similar to Birchbox or Julep Maven, except you don't pay anything! Anyone can sign up, and then if you're active on the website you could get sent a box.
I received the Love VoxBox this month; which had chocolate, a razor, and tea among other things. But more importantly it had a set of nail stickers from the brand Kiss.
I've never had much desire to try out nail stickers because I enjoy doing my own nail art. However, of course I couldn't pass up the chance to test out a nail product that was in my possession anyway.
I wasn't crazy about the pattern (it's called Shrug) I received, but looking through the little leaflet included, I saw they had a pretty good selection. If I were going to use them again I would go for one of the cute floral prints. There are 18 choices overall.
I found the hardest part of the whole application process was just finding the right size stickers for each of my nails. There are 28 stickers in each package though, so there are plenty to play around with and find the right fit. You'll also have plenty left over for another project. They wouldn't be the right sizes, but Kiss recommends that you could cut them up and use them as part of another manicure. They won't dry out so you can always keep them on hand for a later use.
Once I had that figured out which sizes to use for each of my nails, it was very simple. Removal was even easier, all you have to do is peel them off and then use a bit of nail polish remover to get rid of any sticky residue.
My least favorite thing about the stickers was that I couldn't seem to get the edge I filed off to be smooth on some of my nails.
I don't think I would use them again, but only because I feel like there aren't any designs that I care for enough to make it worth buying the stickers, when I could probably do something similar by hand.
I would however recommend the stickers to any of my friends who need a detailed manicure in a pinch, aren't patient with their nail painting, or just can't do anything other than a solid color on their own. They would be perfect for a fun manicure for someone who doesn't enjoy doing or can't do their own nail art.
Now for more pictures:
If you are interested in trying these out for yourself, their suggested retail is $6.99. I saw them for sale around me for $8.99 the other day so make sure you look out for the best price. They should be really easy to find, they're available at Walgreens, CVS, Walmart, etc.
