Golden Caviar Nails.

I've done a bunch of fun manicures that used buillion beads or caviar pearls. However, until now I had never done an actual caviar manicure where you cover the entire nail with the beads. But I received one of the Caviar Manicure Luxe sets from Ciaté recently and decided it was time I try it out! 

The set I have is in the color Gleam which is a darker gold color, and the polish is called Gold Digga. I love gold accessories and good nail art is always the best accessory, so this was a great fit.

As far as application I was very pleased to find that the caviar manicure is about as simple as it can get. You just paint your nails and then pour on the beads.

I won't talk about the wearability of this too much, but if you're looking for a manicure to last you through the workday you aren't looking in the right place. This is pretty much the ideal party manicure. It's shiny and fun and would be a good conversation starter. I can't say I'll be breaking out the caviar manicure all the time now, but I definitely will be doing this again for a special occasion!

Strawberry Nails.

I think fruit makes for really cute manicure inspiration, I've already done watermelon and kiwi in past blog posts. Deciding on which fruit to do next wasn't hard after I saw this manicure. I really liked the idea of using bullion beads for the seeds of strawberries. Placing all the beads ended up being a bit tiresome, but the results are definitely extra cute. 

I used China Glaze Ahoy! and Watermelon Rind for the strawberries, and used the bullion beads that I reviewed here.

Simple Daisy Nails.

Today's manicure is pretty simple, but I think floral nails are always cute, and I realized daisies were a type of flower I had yet to do!

The base color is China Glaze Watermelon Rind and the flowers are done with acrylic paint. I finished things off with steel balls for the centers, which I reviewed here. I've found them to be a very fun addition to my nail art supplies.

Hello Kitty Nails.

I've been thinking about doing Hello Kitty nails for a while now, but the other day my friend gave me a Hello Kitty friendship bracelet and I was inspired!

This is the bracelet that was the main source of inspiration.

The pink is China Glaze Rich & Famous and the white is Milani White on the Spot. The yellow and black are acrylic paints. The bow is made up of a rhinestone and steel balls.

Nautical Nails.

Nautical nails are a design I've had on my list to do for quite a while now, but it took me a while to decide how exactly I wanted to do them. 

I played around with a few different ideas and eventually decided on this fun combination...

The polishes I used are Milani White on the Spot, Julep January, and Essence Just Rock It. I used striping tape for all of the stripes, and the silver balls are the steel balls I reviewed here.

I wore this design on the 4th of July so the color scheme was perfect, but nautical nails are so perfect for any summer day!

Born Pretty Steel Ball Wheel Review.

When I was offered to pick a few things to review from Born Pretty Store, I knew that I wanted to test out the steel balls or bullion beads. When I saw this wheel with 12 colors I knew it was perfect!

I've seen a lot of nail art using these steel balls lately for fun studded manicures, but I had yet to see them in person. They were even smaller than I expected when I got them in the mail, which means they don't stick out too far on your nails. The colors in the wheel I received are not exact to the ones pictured on the site. I didn't feel like I was missing out on any important colors though, in fact I didn't notice until I was reexamining the photos for this review! My wheel has pastel green, orange, pastel pink, pastel purple, red, teal, silver, black, gold, iridescent clear, dark green, and a different pale pink.

The steel balls provide a lot of different manicure options. (They're perfect for a caviar manicure if you've been looking to get in on that trend!) I knew I was looking to create a studded manicure.

I used the teal steel balls to create random X's on my nails. Applying them to my nails was really simple and didn't require a learning curve, although it does take a pit of patience and time. I wanted the studs to really stand out so I painted my nails with Wet n Wild Black Creme for the base color. To put the balls on I used Sally Hansen Clearly Quick and an orange stick and once I was finished I secured them with a thin topcoat.

And a thin topcoat seems to be all you need to keep things in place, I've been running my fingers over my new studded nails and admiring the texture quite a bit, and nothing has budged.

I already have lots of plans to use these in the future, they will definitely be a fun addiction to my nail art supplies collection!
